Mayhem, a Norwegian black metal band are confirmed to play at Bangalore Open Air 2014, India. Necrobutcher from Mayhem confirms that the band is playing at Bangalore Open Air’s Third Edition on September 6th, 2014. The tickets for the show have been made available through a crowd-funding effort on Wishberry, where you can not only buy your tickets but also support the festival by buying merchandise and other goodies.

Mayhem was formed in 1984 in Oslo, and have long been regarded as one of the pioneers of the Norwegian black metal scene. Mayhem’s record label, Season of Mist announced that the band will be releasing a new album, entitled Esoteric Warfare, and will be released on June 6th. The band also released a new song “Psywar” which is made available for streaming. This marks the first Mayhem studio effort since Blasphemer’s departure and Teloch’s permanent status in the band.

This will the bands debut performance in India. Although, there were rumours. Here’s a message from Necrobutcher himself confirming the bands performance at the festival.
