Bangalore Open Air Festival have announced their Lineup, Venue and Tickets for the 2014 edition of Bangalore Open Air Festival. During this edition of the Wacken Open Air powered event, India will be witnessing the German Thrash Metal Band – Destruction, Greek Extreme Metal Band – Rotting Christ as headliners along with a huge supporting lineup. The festival is scheduled to happen on 13th of September, 2014 at Counter Culture, Bangalore.

Rotting Christ

The lineup includes, Rotting Christ – A Greek extreme metal band formed in 1987. They are noted for being one of the first black metal bands within this region, as well as a premier act within the European underground metal scene. Along with Destruction, A German thrash metal band. They are considered one of the “three kings” of the Teutonic thrash metal scene, the others being Kreator and Sodom.

Cadaver Mutilator from Italy, Kannur metallers – The Down Troddence, Bangalore metallers – Threinody and Kolkata metal outfit Armament are the supporting bands for this edition of Bangalore Open Air.

The tickets for the festival have been prices at a rate of Rs.2000 till August 10th and would be priced at Rs.2500 from August 11th onwards.

Earlier this year in April, Mayhem had confirmed that they’d be performing at Bangalore Open Air – CHECK BY CLICKING HERE, but it’s a very unfortunate situation for all of us, the fans as the festival didn’t reach the required crowdfunding amount – Mayhem will not be playing at this years’ Bangalore Open Air.

What is Bangalore Open Air 2014?

Bangalore Open Air (BOA) is a metal festival that takes place every year in Bangalore and is arguably one of Asia’s biggest metal festivals. Since its inception in 2012, the festival has thrilled Indian headbangers by bringing down some of the biggest metal acts on the planet like the legendary Kreator, Iced Earth, Ihsahn, Dark Tranquillity, Animals as Leaders, Suidakra and Leprous.

The festival has also featured the cream of the crop of the local metal scene like Demonic Resurrection, Dying Embrace, Kryptos, Bevar Sea and many more as well as hosting the finals of the Wacken Metal Battle – India leg. The festival aims at bringing quality international and local metal acts to India and to show the world that India is a rising metal nation with audiences as rabid as anywhere else in the world.

About Cadever Mutilator :

The band is founded in 2003 by Paride Mercurio (vocals) and evolves, with the entry of Rosario Piazza (guitar) and Marcello Triolo (bass), as a project inspired by the American brutal death metal style. In 2006 the band starts recording their first album near the “21nesimo livello” and the “Raven Studios” in Palermo. The work is published in 2007 with the title of “Carnasyum”. In the same year Tony Rettino (guitar) and Giorgio Piparo (drums) complete the line-up and the band starts working on the next project “Nechronicles” (originally designed as a full-length album). In 2008 the promo containing the songs Putrid Meat Walking and Rotten Flesh Puppet comes out.

In 2009, Rosario Piazza leaves the band. His replacement Daniel Gruppuso completes the recording of Nechronicles.

In 2010 the band signs for “TheSpew Records” and releases the EP “Nechronicles”. During this period Giovanni Sciortino replaces Daniel Gruppuso on guitar.

In 2011 the band publish the first official video, containing a single (Mouth Crasher) which will be part of the new album: “M.D.K.”.

In 2012 Giorgio Piparo leaves the band and is replaced by Lorenzo Reina, who actively participates in developing the songs on the new album. “M.D.K.” (recorded at Pietro Ventimiglia Studios and mastered at Hertz Studio) is finished in the summer of 2012 and in 2013 the band signs for Inherited Suffering Records. During this period Tony Rettino becomes a Blakhart and D’Orazio endorser and in late 2013 Lorenzo Reina becomes a Tamburo endorser.

In 2014 Salvatore Li Causi replaces Giovanni Sciortino on guitar and the band publish the new official video “Swallowed By Morgellons”, taken from Murder Death Kill.

Thus far, Cadaver Mutilator played along with Sinister, Dismember, Defeated Sanity, Avulsed, Emeth, Horrid, Natron, Nefas, Corpse Fucking Art, Cripple Bastards, Goretrade, Cremated Lives, Amputated, Destruction, Suffocation and many others.
