Maybe 15: the latest offering from Space Behind The Yellow Room
By Ronnie Dutta
Bangalore based post rock outfit Space behind the Yellow Room have been made quite a name for themselves with their unique blend of hardcore and soothing ambience. The band recently released a two track EP entitled Maybe 15 which gives a glimpse on what has been cooking recently.
The first track on the ep happens to be “Feeder” which displays some real good variety from the Bangalore quartet. The hardcore screams sound raw and the subtle changes in the mood give it that slight progressive edge. The focus seems to be more on unfolding it form of a story which when teamed up with the sludge and ambience comes off really well.
The second track titled “And at Last “reminds you of Radiohead.Excellent vocal skills are on display here by Shoumik Biswas and Nihir Apte. The production is neat and I would definitely give this ep an eight out of ten.
