Beer Love : Exivious
The world loves beer, so do we. we all know how beer saved the world , so why are we talking about it ? Because it is time for The Great Indian October Fest. This would be the 10th edition of Kingfisher Premium – The Great Indian Octoberfest. The 3 day music and beer fest has an impressive artist line-up this year with the likes of Exivious and The Ocean collective set to headline the festival
In the spirit of the festival we sat down with Exivious and discussed their favourite beers , following are their top five
1. Duvel
Duvel is a natural beer with a subtle bitterness, a refined flavour and a distinctive hop character. The brewing process takes 90days, that according to Duvel is the longest brewing process as compared to any other beer. Apart from pure spring water, which is the main ingredient of beer, barley is the most important raw material.Duvel means the Devil and there was a time when a pack of six would cost € 6,66. Taking the number of the beast to new levels
2. Chimay Blue
It is a dark Trappist beer with a powerful aroma. The taste is relatively dry with caramel note. The alcohol content is towards the higher side at 9%. If you are wondering what a Trappist beer is , here is the answer .Trappist means that it is brewed within the walls of a Trappist monastery under the control of the community of monks.Interesting indeed
3. Westmalle Tripel
Pours a dark-ish golden color with banana tinted edges. Cloudy, hazy, and basically opaque, as we would expect any tripel to be. this is again a Trappist beer with the alcohol content being 9.5%
4. LaTrappe Isid’or
It has a beautiful amber colour but the foam does not persist. Caramel with some salt licorice, toffee, a bit of alcohol, very noticeable pepper as well. The alcohol content on this is 7.5%. As you might have noticed by now , this one is a trappist beer too
5. LaTrappe Tripel
The aroma is slightly malty and estery. Bottle. Pours hazy golden yellow to coppery with a big off-white head that collapses into a thin but fully persistent layer. This one has 8% alcohol by volume and is a trappist beer too.
All these beers are strong Belgian beers. For the band living close to the Netherland-Belgian border has the advantage of having plenty of these beers around
