Hey Sanath,
I’m a tv producer from the UK on a 9 week holiday in India. This is a long shot but I thought I’d ask just in case you or anyone you know can help. Whilst I’m here I have a little work assignment. I’m trying to find some Bruce Springsteen fans to take part in a major documentary being made by Black Dog Films (a division of Ridley Scott Associates) called Springsteen & I. Have a look at their website which explains everything: http://www.springsteenandi.com/
Black Dog have obviously had loads of people contributing but I think they would like to give it a bit more of an international flavour and have more diversity in contributors (I assume they have so far been predominantly white North American and Northern Europeans).
The producers aren’t looking for anything too slick – it could even be shot on a smart phone. I think having any contributors from India would really lift this project.
I’m trying to chat to as many people as I can who might be able to connect me with Indian rock music fans in an attempt to track down some Bruce fanatics who may be willing to make a short film. I’m assuming Springsteen is not really your bag but if you have any ideas or can suggest other rock journalists/ promoters/ fans to talk to – in Bangalore or further afield – that would be most useful.
Please drop me a line if you have any questions, advice etc. I’m hoping to get to Bangalore this Friday but not sure I’ll be able to make the B School of Rock gig. Will try and get to see Thermal and Quarter on Sunday at TAO.
Also, do feel free to pass this message on to any other good music contacts you may have.
Best wishes,
Gurbir Dhillon
